The celebrities were out in force last Sunday when the MTV movie awards took place in LA. And what an amazing show it was with the prettiest and most glamorous stars dressed up and looking stunning in their costume jewellery and gorgeous dresses and tuxes.
We saw Lindsey Lohan in a stunning Sparkly Jumpsuit teamed with an armful of bangles. There was also a lot of leg showing with the likes of Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson wearing over the knee mini dresses. They kept their costume jewellery simple by wearing small diamond studs and a statement cocktail ring- after all it is the MTV award which is known to be cool and hip!
To get your MTV Movie award look, go for simple earrings and a statement ring or statement bracelet with your mini dress to have true celebrity style.

The VMA’s were on just under a week ago, and we all know about the Kanye West incident, but we are here to make sure that he has not out-shone the gorgeous red carpet dresses and red carpet
costume jewellery. And to start with, let’s talk about Taylor Swifts amazing floor length gown, the only girl to wear a floor length gown at the VMA’s may I add, and may I add her
chandelier earrings were stunning.
And we can’t finish off without talking about Pink’s EBay dress that Shakira’s stylist said was a one off and therefore ended up wearing the same as each other!!! But again, the trend in
costume jewellery and fashion jewellery was the
statement earrings and
statement bracelet.

Bangles continue to be a real trend and have gained a fashionista following in the past year. Chunky bangles and cuffs have been seen on all catwalks for next season. But jewellery cuffs can be cheap and cheerful, especially since costume jewellery is coming back with a vengeance. Statement bangles and cuffs can be worn at the wrist or on the upper arm. Bangles can dress up any outfit from a t-shirt and jeans to a little black dress.
Will the trend continue into autumn/winter months? If so what will the style and colour be?
As far a jewellery trends go for Autumn/Winter 2008-2009, Bangles are a must have for every jewellery box. Choose from narrow bangles to wide deep cuffs. Bangles and cuffs that contain crystals are a very glamorous alternative to the Summer trend of plastic and wooden bangles. The main colour trend for next season will be blues and lilacs with red undertones, moving away from the traditional autumn subdued and quiet colours. Carribean blue opal is seen as a very popular colour for jewellery and accessories next season.
